Dr. Kathleen McJunkin
Dr. Kathleen McJunkin is one of our Associate Doctors of Veterinary Medicine at Blue Cross Animal Hospital. She had been working with Blue Cross for 17 years now and has a history working in medical labs. She has worked 10 years in chemistry and 10 years in molecular diagnostics; almost all at the University of Minnesota and a short stint at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital.
One of her favorite things about working at the vet clinic is that it feels like family at Blue Cross with long term clients and patients, some clients had been coming here with their parents when they were younger and are continuing that tradition when they get older. She also feels very fortunate to have spent this time at Blue Cross Animal Hospital due to the co-workers and clients and their furry friends.
Kathleen has not found an animal she didn’t like but when she was younger and first saw a giraffe, she was smitten and also had a similar love for dolphins. When she isn’t at work, she spends her day going out walking, doing yoga, biking, gardening, skiing ─ both downhill and cross country, reading and quilting. She also enjoys spending time with her children and grandchild. She also has 6 “grand puppies” named Ivy, Ernie, Cappy, Carlos, Cooper and Ruby and 4 “grand rabbits” that she gives extra love to as well.
