Dr. Ashley Mack
Dr. Mack has been the Medical Director at Blue Cross Veterinary Hospital since November 2023. Her journey in veterinary medicine began at the age of 19 when she volunteered at a small animal hospital in Statesboro, Georgia. It was there that she discovered her passion for animal care, quickly advancing from a volunteer to kennel assistant and eventually becoming a veterinary technician, gaining experience in both the small and large animal fields. In 2011, driven by her dream of becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Mack relocated to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota, where she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2016. Since then, she has made Minnesota her home, dedicating her career to providing compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care.
Dr. Mack has special interests in dermatology, end-of-life and palliative care, surgery with a focus on dentistry, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. She is especially passionate about working up complex cases and is committed to providing personalized and thorough care to each patient. She also thoroughly enjoys mentoring new graduates and is an advocate for veterinarians, dedicating time to support the growth and well-being of her colleagues in the profession.
Outside of work, Dr. Mack is a busy mom to four boys: Devin (16), Kai (3), Vinny (almost 2), and newborn Cameron. Her family is heavily involved in hockey, and winters are often spent at the rink cheering on Devin at the ice arena .
In her free time, she loves getting outdoors, traveling to new places, trying out local restaurants, hiking, and capturing moments through photography. She also has a passion for interior design and event planning. Her household includes two 9-year-old brother cats, Millie, a 4-year old Great Dane mix, and Nanu, a 5 year-old three legged Coton de Tulear.
With a deep commitment to veterinary medicine, Dr. Mack is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on her patients and their families, while also mentoring and supporting the next generation of veterinarians.
