Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Deb Hlavka
Dr. Deb Hlavka was raised on a Minnesota dairy farm, where she quickly decided to go into small animal medicine, although she still loves cows. Her undergraduate years were spent at St. Cloud State University. Following graduation from the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 1982, she began at Blue Cross Animal Hospital and has been here ever since. In her spare time, Dr. Deb enjoys gardening with her dogs, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She is owned by three miniature dachshunds and a cat.
Dr. Aimee Meyer
Dr. Aimee Meyer grew up in Minnetonka and Wayzata, MN with a Yorkshire Terrier named Oliver. After studying Biology and German at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, Dr. Aimee worked in a research lab at HCMC. Dr. Aimee graduated from the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 1999. She then moved to a small town in rural Vermont where she treated farm animals as well as domestic pets. After two years, she came back to Minnesota and started at Blue Cross in 2001. She, her husband, and their children share their home with one Golden Retriever and one very opinionated cat.
